Paige won the gold jersey Thursday night for a couple reasons. She scored a great rebound goal, and for her constant pursuit of the puck and not letting the other team have it.
The warriors went into this game hoping to secure 3rd place in the standings with a win. Things were tense going in after the team hadn't played so well against steep competition over the past few weeks.
All was good though as Jeryn scored under 2 minutes into the game off a pass from Tyson. Lennon scored quickly after on a hard shot that was deflected in by a Delhi player. This goal was set up by a great faceoff win by Tyson. Despite Delhi scoring in the late stages of the period, the Warriors were confident tonight was their night.
Under 4 minutes into the 2nd period, Tyson won another clean faceoff, this time back to Jeryn and he scored to make it 3-1. The warriors kept their attack going with jeryn scoring an unassisted goal with 3:16 left and Colton scoring on a rebound shot from Logan with 2:47 left. The Warriors were now in control with a 5-1 lead going into the 3rd.
Jeryn scored his 4th goal of the game 43 seconds into the 3rd. This was followed by Logan, who scored on a rebound from Tyson, his 4th assist of the game. Finally, Paige scored on an assist from Aidan.
Delhi managed to score another goal in the 3rd, but Simcoe played a great game, with the final score being 8-2.
Great job team. You guys played your best game of the season and definitely showed you are a TEAM in every sense of the word.
