Jeryn wins the Gold Jersey in 4-2 win over Burford 2
Jeryn won the Gold Jersey by battling through a lot of adversity from the other team, and the officials, to score the game winning goal.
In a great back and forth game, the Simcoe Warriors pulled out a 4-2 victory in Burford on Saturday. The first period ended in a 0-0 tie thanks to some good defensive play and some great saves by Austin.
The second period saw Simcoe pull ahead 1-0 on a great passing play between Jeryn and Tyson during a 2 on 0 breakaway. Burford managed to tie the game at 1-1 before the end of the second.
The third period saw Burford pull ahead 2-1 but Simcoe didn't panic and Tyson scored shortly after with the assist going to Lucius.
As the period played on the referees decided not to call many blatant slashes, hooks and trips being committed against the Simcoe Warriors. The team battled through the issues and Jeryn managed to put one past the Burford goalie. Assists went to Jonah and Tyson. A little while later Gina put the puck in the net for an important insuarance goal after a lot of hard work by Jonah and Jeryn.
Great weekend team. 2 victories against 2 good teams.
