Aylin wins the Gold Jersey in 7-3 win over Ingersoll 1
Aylin won the jersey today because of her work in front of our own net. The coaches talked about clearing out the no touch zone and she did a great job all game long in this area.
Despite a very slow start, the Warriors were able to pull off a 7-3 victory in Ingersoll.
The first period saw them take a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Jeryn. Momentum was lost though and some sloppy play in the defensive end allowed Ingersoll to come back and score 2 goals to finish the period with a 2-1 lead.
In between periods Coach Jason gave the kids a pep talk. This seemed to work as Jeryn scored 1:32 into the period to tie the game. Assists went to Gina and Tyson.
2:06 later Caius put the team ahead by driving to the net to get a rebound on Gina's shot. Second assist went to Lennon.
17 seconds later Jonah scored on a rebound of a Kameron shot to make it 4-2.
2:23 later Caius scored again on an assist from Tyson to finalize the scoring for the second period.
The third period saw Ingersoll score to make it 5-3
Shortly after Jonah scored an unassisted goal to make it 6-3.
The final goal of the game was scored by Paige who did a great job being in perfect position in the slot. Jeryn and Tyson got the assists.
Great job battling through a slow start to finish strong team.
