U11 - Team 1: Tournament Champs
This weekend U11 - Team 1 (Finamore) travelled to Windsor to compete in the RMHA Families First Tournament and came home as Champs!
The team started the tournament with a 6-1 win over the Riverside Eagles Tan and then moved on to another win, 4-1, over Riverside White Wolves. Later the same day, the team squeaked out a 3-3 tie against the Lasalle White Lightning, putting them first in the pool and getting a bye to the Semis.
In the Semifinals against the St. Thomas Jr Stars, the game started out with us down one right off the bat, but through perseverance and hard work the team scored 2 goals to take the lead! In the last minute of the game, with the goalie pulled, St. Thomas tied it, sending us into a 3-on-3 sudden death OT which only lasted 10 seconds before the Warriors found the back of the net!
On a high after this win, the team ran into the Strathroy Rockets in the Finals. Never looking back, the team started and ended the scoring with a commanding 6-0 win, becoming the U11 Tournament Champs!
Huge Congratulations on the win ... and how this team represented SDMHA, the coaching staff, and parents with their teamwork and determination!
