U18 Champions
Congratulations to our Marci Cook U18 Champions - the Oakville Rangers
The U18 season can often be the last time these boys play organized hockey. My goal was to find a competitive tournament to provide some closure to the season and give them one last opportunity to create memories that will last them forever. Raised in the Simcoe area I was excited to find the Simcoe Arms Marci Cook Memorial Tournament.
The coaches and team were immediately on board. The tournament was well run in three different venues with games running on time. The volunteers were friendly and always ready to help answer any questions we had. The ice was good, and the refereeing fair and respectful. Many of our players and parents were experiencing Norfolk for the first time. They took in the local restaurants and hiked some of the trails.
It is very special to see the dedication and funds raised for such an important cause in memory of Marci Cook. The team had pink stripes on their helmets and will continue to wear them in our Oakville playoffs.
We were thankful for the experience and will recommend it to our local teams.
